A MESSAGE FROM THE CITY OF CEDAR RAPIDS
Work begins on Monday, June 8 for the Chandler Street project. Crews will begin with water main work between 10th Avenue and 9th Avenue, which will include connecting homes to the new water main. If you live in this area, watch for door hangers that will alert you to any temporary water service disruption during this time.
The intersection of Chandler Street and 10th Avenue will be closed starting next week for the water main work, and will remain closed for upcoming storm sewer improvements and reconstruction of the intersection. Since this intersection is near the Jefferson High School softball complex, a temporary sidewalk will be constructed to provide safe access while this work is underway.
We anticipate all work on school grounds and at the intersection of Chandler Street/10th Avenue to be completed before the 2020-2021 school year starts mid-August.
