Treasurer’s Report $710.55 minus $250.00 for insurance as well as $53.50 to Gaylon Heetland for mulch that was purchased for the butterfly garden in Cleveland Park. Once we are reimbursed from the city for those, our balance will be back up to our original $710.55.
There is $2,000 sitting in our bank account but this is earmarked for the concrete pads that are in the park. We will be paying this bill and receive a receipt of the bill being paid in full.
Our pancake/omelet breakfast is taking place on Saturday June 30th from 8:00 to 11:00 am. The event is already advertised on the Central Church of Christ’s electronic sign. The cost will be $8.00 for adults, children and senior citizens (65 and older) will be $5.00. Hy-Vee has been generous enough to donate the pancake batter and other sides as well as the eggs for the omelets. If you are interested in volunteering for the event, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We will also be raffling tickets for a meat bundle from Hy-Vee at the pancake/omelet breakfast as well!
As of now, the car show that was going to take place on July 7 th is on hold. We will hold this hopefully at a later date. Please stay tuned!
Remember that our National Night Out will be taking place on Tuesday, August 7th in Cleveland. We are looking for volunteers to make side dishes and desserts to share. Hy-Vee will be providing hot dogs and chips for us along with a beverage. More details to follow.
George is going to get an application to request funding from the city to get new trashcans in the park. We are looking at getting a concrete pad on the side of the park that is up against 15th Street where the sports teams play. We are hoping this will encourage those who use the park to throw their garbage away before they leave. George put to vote that we request playground equipment that is suitable for older kids in our park. We are going to check out some site to see if there is a possibility to purchase gently used equipment as well. Will follow with more details.
Hy-Vee wants to know how they can also be more of a presence in our neighborhood. We suggested that they put up signage at our events to show they are sponsoring events. If you have any suggestions as to how we can foster a stronger relationship with Hy-Vee, please let us know.
