"The following is a brief summary of the upcoming projects in the Chandler Street SW and 20th Street SW area:
2020: Chandler Street between 10th Avenue and 18th Street; intersection of 10th Avenue and Chandler Street
Improvements include pavement repair and resurfacing, water main replacement, storm sewer upgrades and reconstruction of the 10th Avenue and Chandler Street intersection. The intersection is scheduled to reopen before the start of school in August. This project bids as Phase 1-B on 18 March 2020.
2021-2020: Chandler Street between 10th Avenue and around the “loop” to 20th Street, plus 20th Street between the Chandler Street intersections
Improvements include reconstruction of both Chandler Street and 20th Street, including new storm sewer and water main systems. New sidewalk will be constructed from the existing sidewalk at the Jefferson High School entrance to 16th Avenue SW, then connecting to existing sidewalks on 16th Avenue. This project bids in December 2020 or January 2021 as Phase 2."
